Description

Stratos 300 nasal support, fundamental pieces for the use of the facial bow.

These pieces allow us to determine the anterior reference point and the axio-orbital plane.

The face bow is an essential complement to the semi-adjustable or fully adjustable articulators, since they allow the mounting of the upper model to the upper branch of the articulator in the same position that the maxilla occupies with respect to the skull.

With the registration of the facial bow we achieve the assembly reproducing the three-dimensional position of the maxilla with respect to the skull and also allows us to determine arbitrarily:

a.- An axis of mandibular rotation or hinge axis.

b.- A reference plane called the axio-orbital plane. (with Stratos 300 nose support)

The face bow uses 3 reference points: 2 posterior and 1 anterior.

The posterior references correspond to the axes of rotation (or hinge) of each condyle, which enter the external auditory canal through the olives of the arch.

The anterior reference point, also of arbitrary termination, is determined at a specific distance from the nasal bridge with the help of the nasal positioner, that is, the Stratos 300 nasal support bar.

Components of the Stratos 300 Nasal Support:
Nasal support bar, which once in position must be well adapted to the nasal bridge.
Vertical column with a fixing screw, whose function is to support the nose bar in addition to regulating its anteroposterior position through the screw and connecting the nose support to the crossbar of the face bow.
In conclusion, the Stratos 300 Nasal Support is one of the necessary pieces to carry out a fast and accurate registration. Transfer of the patient record is accomplished by fixing the full facebow in the Stratos 300 articulator.
